My Dad.

The year my dad turned 70 years old, we knew we were celebrating. He wasn’t

thinking of having a big party. A family gathering with his grandchildren running

around the house, a nice dinner and some wine was perfect for him. But my

mother, brothers and I had something a little different in mind. How could we not have a special celebration for this wonderful man?

We planned the whole thing, called the event agency, contacted the list of guests,

ordered the food, picked out the music… Then, the big question: what shou...

Time: the period in which an action or an event occurs. I can summarize my whole life thinking about when something happened and how long it lasted. What I did or didn’t do, what I chose or didn’t´ choose, what I enjoyed or didn’t enjoy. At the end of the day, yes, work is important as well as other responsibilities, but what’s the point of fulfilling all our duties if we don’t take some time for ourselves to enjoy?

A while ago, I made the resolution that no matter how busy my week was, I would take one day (or at least hal...

Being thin and having a nice-looking body was a thought that didn’t cross my mind until I was 13 years old. At that age, I started thinking about what I ate and how it

would affect my appearance. I wasn’t overweight, but I wanted to look more like many of my friends, who were thinner and better-shaped.

Even though I didn’t go on a diet, I did limit the amount of sugar and carbs I

consumed. At the same time, I started to exercise, which is something I learned from

my parents. The changes started to show quite fast: I lost weigh...

Being born in a tropical country, I’ve always been used to taking care of my skin in a

way that allows me to have a proper level of hydration, without clogging my pores

and avoiding an oily skin. In fact, living for 15 years on an island taught me that I

cannot leave home without applying a lightweight moisturizer and sunscreen, but

I’ll tell you about this in a future post.

When I turned 30 (not that long ago, I have to say), I was living in New York City. It

was the 26th of February and I was cold! I was working for a nonprofi...

From a very young age, most women like to apply makeup on themselves and want to learn more about it, hide imperfections and enhance their beauty. Many of us have even taken makeup courses, that’s how serious we are about this subject.

I took my first makeup course when I was 17 years old. At that age, you just want to learn what type of foundation is best for you, what eyeshadow colors look better on you, how to make your nose and face look thinner, your eyes bigger, and of course, how to transform a day makeup into a...

While it is true that skincare varies with time and that each skin has its own needs, there are a series of measures you can take in order to slow down the effects of time on your skin.

1. Stay well hydrated.

At any age, skincare begins from the inside out. It doesn’t matter if you use the best creams on the market, if you don’t drink enough water, your skin won’t look healthy enough. Under normal conditions, it is recommended to drink 8 glasses of water a day. However, that amount could be higher if you exercise a lot or if...

At some point, we’ve all made the resolution of cultivating healthier habits that make us feel better, but we don’t always know where to start or what to do. In a world with limitless available information, it’s easy to feel lost.

One of the most important things to consider in order to live a healthier life is to understand that we have to think, perceive and feel the world from a different angle. It’s a new way to approach to life we're talking about. We can achieve a lot of changes, if we make conscious decisions, from t...
